Privacy Policy

Effective 17 July 2026 · Nūr for iOS
Nūr collects nothing. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone.

Your location

Nūr uses your location for exactly one purpose: calculating prayer times and the qibla direction for where you are. This calculation happens entirely on your device using astronomical formulas. Your location is never transmitted anywhere, never stored outside your device, and never shared with anyone — including us. We couldn't see it if we wanted to; the app has no server to send it to.

If you prefer not to grant location access at all, you can simply search for a city by name instead. City search uses Apple's built-in geocoding service, subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Your subscription

Payments are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details, your name, or your Apple ID. The app checks your subscription status locally through Apple's StoreKit framework.

Data stored on your device

The app keeps a small amount of data locally on your iPhone: your chosen city, your calculation-method preferences, and the date you first opened the app (used to measure your free month). This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app, except the first-open date, which is kept in the iOS keychain so that reinstalling doesn't restart the free period.

Analytics and tracking

There are none. Nūr contains no analytics frameworks, no crash reporters, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind. The App Store privacy label for Nūr reflects this.

Children

Nūr does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Given that the app collects nothing, we don't expect it to change much.
